A little bit about the designer…

Miranda Hughes is a contemporary jewellery designer & maker based in England, UK. She has been creating her own jewellery ranges since graduating with a Silversmithing & Jewellery degree in 2005.

Whilst studying, Miranda became interested in themes surrounding preciousness and value within jewellery. This became a focal point for much of her degree work and led to experimentation with many different materials; including found objects. The current collections still reflect this theme, but on a slightly less conceptual basis. There is now an emphasis on creating jewellery that is not only beautiful and interesting, but affordable and wearable.

Using a variety of materials Miranda designs and handcrafts jewellery that is distinctive and unique. Contemporary design combined with a love for ‘all things vintage’  forms the starting point for many designs. Antique objects, words, colours and patterns are used as precious charms and details. This gives these seemingly valueless elements a new life; reinventing them into something wearable and beautiful.

Each piece of jewellery has its own unique characteristics, no two pieces are exactly the same; giving the wearer something to truly treasure.
